Utah Scientific offers a wide range of control panels to suit any type of routing switcher application. Whether you need a completely customize-able, software-based GUI panel, a simple single-bus hardware panel in which you can push a single button to select a source, or a sophisticated, multi-bus, multilevel control panel that can operate the entire routing system, Utah Scientific has the panel to fit your exact requirement.

The standard UCP Series of router control panels provides a traditional feature set with a wide array of powerful and cost-effective panels. The UCP Series is suited to handle multiple types of routing switcher applications. This involves simple single-bus panels where source selection is made by single button access to very sophisticated multi-bus / multi-level router control panels that can operate the entire system.

UCP-MM/A/E
Multi-mode full X-Y with 16 dynamic LCD button Keypad

The UCP-MM/A/E is a full matrix X-Y panel used to select any source to any destination. The panel has sixteen level breakaway and four touch-screen LCD display panels that offer a highly legible read out for levels, sources, destinations and router status. In X-Y mode the control panel offers page views of destinations. With multiple pages available, users can assign twelve destinations and create takes directly within the display.  The UCP-MM/A/E also boasts simplified navigation for ease of use and the ability to quickly switch sources using a button-per-source mode.

The UCP-MM/B/E is a full matrix X-Y panel used to select any source to any destination. The UCP-XY/E panel is used to select any source to any destination with full sixteen level breakaway and status. The panel includes eight alphanumeric displays providing a direct indication of status. A ninth display shows the active destination. A 20 button button keypad provides easy navigation of all sources and destinations. Fifteen of those buttons are user assignable assuring a user friendly operation and quick access to the most commonly used functions including direct sources, destinations, salvos, attributes, and protect/lock of outputs.

Full X-Y with direct take feature

The UCP-SX is a full matrix X-Y panel that is used to select any source to destination with full sixteen level breakaway and status. The panel includes eight alphanumeric displays, each capable of providing direct indication of status. A ninth display shows the active destination. The panel has a twenty button keypad that enables the ability to select direct sources by name or numeric value. The UCP-SX also has dedicated salvo, attribute and protect/lock output buttons.  The firmware allows for X-Y mode and Direct. X-Y mode will function as a standard X-Y panel while in Direct mode the panel enables the user to store and select up to sixteen sources and destinations. Switching between either mode is as simple as pressing a button.

The UCP-MX is a full matrix X-Y panel used to select any source to any destination with full sixteen level breakaway and status. The UCP-MX contains eight alphanumeric displays, each with 8 characters, providing direct indication of status. A ninth display shows the active destination. The panel contains a twenty button keypad which provides a user with the ability to select sources and destinations by name or numeric value. The UCP-MX also has dedicated salvo, attribute and protect/lock output buttons. Firmware in the UCP-MX enables X-Y mode and Multi. In X-Y mode the panel will function as a standard X-Y panel. In Multi mode the panel allows the user to store and control up to 16 destinations. Switching between the two modes is as easy as pushing a button.

The UCP-1 is a full matrix X-Y panel used to select any source to any destination with level breakaway and status. The panel features alphanumeric display, with eight characters, providing direct indication of status. A secondary display shows active destination. The 20 button keypad provides the ability for a user to select sources and destinations by name.  Ten dedicated buttons are provided to allow users direct access to the most commonly used functions including direct sources, destinations, salvos, attributes, and protect/lock of outputs. 

UCP-2/E

Single or Dual bus with full source access and 12-assignable buttons

The UCP-2 can be operated as either a single or dual bus router control panel with full access to all sources and destinations. The panel also includes level breakaway and status. Eight Characters and alphanumeric display give direct indication of status. A twenty button keypad gives the ability to select sources by name. Twelve buttons are dedicated to provide direct access to commonly used functions such as sources, destinations, salvos, attributes and protect/lock of outputs.

The UCP-48 provides 32 direct source buttons each having a four character LCD display for status with dedicated scroll buttons. Active source selection is indicated by a contrasting backlight color on the LCD display. Sixteen user programmed buttons can be used for assigning pages, destinations, levels, sources, and salvos. Using the scroll function allows the panel to access a total of 640 separate sources. With twenty pages each holding 32 sources that are user defined you can set up sources to be displayed by functional groups, sequentially, or in any other method that may be appropriate for individual application. 

UCP-64/E

64 user programmable buttons

The UCP-64 provides 64 buttons typically configured as a button-per-source panel for direct switching to a single destination. This panel is generally used where fast simple access is required to a limited number of sources. For special applications, the UCP-64’s buttons can be programmed to be source, destination, salvo, or level select buttons. This allows the UCP-64 to function as a 32×32 panel, single-bus 64 input panel or any other combination totally 64 selections. In addition to this the panel has removable legend strips, allowing you to quickly label buttons which creates a huge advantage where panel configuration change occurs frequently. The CX-64 an extension panel, is sold separately to add an additional 64 buttons if requested.

The UCP-36 provides 36 buttons typically configured as a button-per-source panel for direct switching up to four destinations and multi-level breakaway. This panel is ideal in fast environments where simple access is needed to a limited number of sources. For Special application the UCP-36’s buttons can be programmed to be source, destination, salvo, or level-selection. This enables the panel to be set up for any other combination of 44 selections. The CX-36 and extension panel, is sold separately to add 44 more buttons if required.

The UCP-72 offers similar capability to the UCP-36 with a shift key added to double the number of sources available on the panel. The labels for sources 1-36 are located on the top half of each button while labels for sources 37-72 are located on the bottom half. The appropriate half segment lights when selected. The CX-72 extension is sold separately for operations that may wish to add 44 more buttons.

The UCP-DT/A is a desktop version of the UCP-MM/A. Designed for the top of a desk or console where rack mounted space either is not available or possible. The Panel’s two touch-screen LCD display panels offer highly legible read-out of levels, sources, destinations, or router status and 16 selector buttons each having an eight character LCD display.

The UCP-DT/B is a desktop version of the UCP-MM/B. The panel is designed for desktop or console placement where rack space is not available. The panel’s two touch-screen LCD displays offer highly legible read-out of levels, sources, destinations, or router status.

16 GPI & 16GPO

The UCP-GPIO provides the means to extend the operation of a Utah Scientific router control system to external devices by means of contact closures. The sixteen inbound contact closures(GPI) are isolated for ease of installation. These contacts can be configured for latching or momentary operation. Programmable for mapping the individual contacts to specific source destination combinations. In momentary operation the crosspoint associated with that contact is activated as long as the closure is active. When the closure is released the router output is switched back to the input that was selected before the closure was activated.  The outbound closures are provided by relays allowing for external devices such as tally lights or other indicators to be activated when a specific source-destination combo is active in the router.
