What’s a 10 Year Warranty Worth?

When you buy an Utah Scientific routing switcher, master control system, or associated product, we’ll stand behind it for a full 10 years. That amounts to a lot of savings in extended warranty cost over the lifetime of your product. There is value in knowing Utah Scientific has your back. Not to mention prevented downtime and replacement costs.

Equipment Limited Warranty
Utah Scientific, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that the Utah Scientific hardware is free from defects in materials and workmanship, and will perform substantially in accordance with the accompanying written materials under normal use and service for a period of ten (10) years from the date of shipment. Any implied warranties on hardware are limited to ten (10) years. Some states/jurisdictions do not allow limitations on duration of an implied limited warranty, so the above limitation may not apply to certain specific purchasers.
The 10-year system limited warranty is based on all “frame” types and “control panel” types starting at the time of shipment. Future expansion falls under the initial “frame” limited warranty period and these cards will transfer to any new frame’s 10-year limited warranty if the frame size is upgraded to a different router size. This relates to cards that move from the initial to new “frames”.
Exceptions to this warranty are products, assemblies, software, or components sold by Utah Scientific but manufactured by other entities that have been discontinued or are no longer available through normal distribution channels.
Return and repair of defective products may be accomplished using new or service stock replacement items as determined by Utah Scientific.
Defective products or components should only be returned to the Utah Scientific repair facility after receiving a Return Authorization with shipping instructions. Freight charges are the responsibility of the customer, to and from Utah Scientific.
Software Limited Warranty
Utah Scientific warrants that all software will perform substantially in accordance with the accompanying written materials for a period of one (1) year from the date of shipment.

Third Party Equipment Limited Warranty
Exceptions to this limited warranty are: products or assemblies, including applicable software, sold and branded by Utah Scientific but manufactured by others where limited warranty coverage, if any, is that of the manufacturer.

No liability for consequential damages
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Utah Scientific or its suppliers be liable for any damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use Utah Scientific products, even if Utah Scientific has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Any acts of nature, lightning strikes, misuse or attempted repairs and changes to the hardware, unless authorized by Utah Scientific, nullifies the limited warranty of that product.
This limited warranty does not apply to equipment which in the judgment of Utah Scientific has been subjected to misuse, accidental or intentional damage, or has been installed in a manner or under conditions other than those expected in a normal application.
This limited warranty is in lieu of all others expressed or implied and no representative or person other than a corporate officer of Utah Scientific, Inc. is authorized to assume any liability other than that expressed herein on behalf of Utah Scientific, Inc.
